Rack-density redesign savings

Co-created a rack-density program that unlocked stranded capacity at space-constrained sites — adding server hardware into existing racks where no standard positions remained. Hundreds of racks deployed across multiple countries without new construction, plus further savings from cabling optimization across global locations.

An integrated toolset spanning the order lifecycle — intake, L1 validation, tracking, and reporting — that replaced manual, multi-system work with per-order checks measured in seconds and one-click reporting. Built, shipped, and maintained solo, alongside a full-time program-delivery load.

Carrier-fault recovery & vendor escalation

Isolated a multi-week carrier-side fault blocking a backbone turn-up, built a detailed chronology proving the impairment was not ours, then identified the right internal escalation path and drove vendor-performance accountability across multiple teams — resulting in a formal vendor engagement that recovered the circuit and unblocked stalled capacity.

Fixing what blocks delivery — across team lines

Drove a workflow defect to a root-cause fix in another team's platform — eliminating false-positive circuit progression from a premature validation threshold. Separately, when a cross-team handoff gap left device-readiness signals arriving days late, I raised it with the owning team and, when it stalled, built the visibility tooling myself — adopted by my team ahead of turn-up.

Migration process hardening

Turned a one-off circuit migration into a repeatable, safer program: ran the lessons-learned to closure, authored an approved change-management template with pre-flight safety checks and program-manager sign-off, and aligned adjacent deployment teams on standardized regional intake. Closed a decommissioning gap that left carrier cross-connects physically connected after cutover — reclaiming scarce ports and optics for reuse and stopping ongoing monthly recurring charges (MRC) for cross-connects with colocation providers.

Backbone Order Tracker

Gives the team and leadership one authoritative view of the delivery pipeline — capacity released, in-flight by stage and quarter, and slipping dependencies — pulled live from the systems of record instead of a drift-prone spreadsheet, so schedule slips surface early enough to escalate and weekly reporting is a one-click publish. Adopted across the team as its everyday order-tracking application.

L1 Fiber-Path Diagnostic Application

Removes a major turn-up bottleneck in backbone delivery — L1 fault isolation. Stalled circuits clear substantially faster: it pinpoints the exact cabling fault and the fix, and catches one bad cable's cascade across multiple circuits in a single pass — encoding optical expertise the standard tooling lacks. Validated on live circuits during delivery.

Flags devices that aren't yet operational at order intake — before they become turn-up timeline blockers — by checking readiness across the global network-state system in one pass instead of manual per-device lookups. Lets a program manager prep cabling validation proactively rather than discovering blockers at go-live. Adopted organically team-wide; its checks now ship inside the order tracker.

Backbone Operations Slack Application and Workflows

Standardizes how every backbone order is coordinated — auto-creating and archiving each order's Slack channel with consistent naming, order details, and the right members. Paired with event-driven workflows that fire at each lifecycle transition (cabling, pending-turn-up, normalization) to notify the right operations team and auto-assign the owning program manager or network deployment engineer — so ownership is never ambiguous and no order slips through untracked.
